Mark 15:37

Mark 15:37 (NKJV) states, “37And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last.” Jesus died. He paid the price for sin even though He had no sin. The Bible teaches us in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This is why Jesus died a sinless death – to defeat death at its source – sin – and the source of sin – Satan. God came to us to do for us what we could not do – regain our righteousness. God conquered sin for us as purity overcomes evil and light turns away darkness. Jesus is the gift of God to all who will believe in Him.

This is the example of God’s love for us.

This is the fulfillment of the promise of God’s love to us.

This is the way, the truth, and the life that is found only in Jesus through His sinless death that gives life to all who will believe in Him (John 14:6; Romans 6:10).

At the moment that Jesus died, the door was opened to salvation and He was validated as the Savior of the world. John 1:29 declares, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” And as Romans 6:10 professes that Jesus died “once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.”; Romans 6:11 declares, “Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Jesus died for your sins too. Put your faith in Him today and you too will become “alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:11).

Dear LORD,

Today we studied about the moment that Jesus died on the cross to save us all from sin. Please help us to realize and understand the importance of this moment so that we too will open our hearts to Jesus and become alive as a child of God. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
