Mark 9:1
The statement/prophecy that Jesus makes in Mark 9:1 (NKJV) is, “Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power.” And as we will see in Mark 9:2-13 this statement will become reality as Jesus takes with Him, Peter, James, and John to witness an event we refer to as the transfiguration.
This is a promise of the kingdom of God and His power.
To see the kingdom of God and His power will be an awesome event for us all when that day comes, and I hope we are all prepared for that day with the confidence of salvation in Christ Jesus and His Holy Spirit living within our hearts. But we must also realize that the kingdom of God and His power are working in our lives every day here on earth; He is calling us and preparing us for that day when we all will be called to our eternal home. Are you ready? You can get ready today by believing in Jesus, professing Him your Savior, and believing that God has raised Him from the dead proving that death has no hold on Him, and receiving forgiveness in your heart and welcoming His Holy Spirit to live in your heart replacing your sin with His Holy Spirit.
Dear LORD,
We all long to see Your kingdom of heaven working in our lives and ultimately for eternity as You welcome all who believe in You. The time we have during our physical lives here on earth is the time in which we have to learn about You and to grow into a relationship with You through the gift of salvation in Your One and only Son Jesus and to receive forgiveness and Your Holy Spirit into our hearts – Your seal on our lives unto eternal life. Please let it be so in all our lives. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
