2 Corinthians 10:12-18

For Paul’s critics who claim to be wiser by their own words of claiming to be so, the Apostle Paul claims that his boasting is not of himself nor of comparison to his critics, but a boasting in the Lord for the accomplishments of his ministry; a ministry that is not extended to the church at Corinth, but is for the church at Corinth.  As those of the church at Corinth are saved and grow in their faith and relationships with the Lord, and the gospel is or may be shared with others in the surrounding communities, the boasting that Paul is/may be boasting is of the excitement of reaching more and more people with the message of Jesus.

This is an example of boasting not in oneself, but in the Lord.

Whenever a ministry grows, there is an excitement for the sharing of the message of the gospel; that others are receiving the life-saving message of salvation in Christ Jesus.  Just as in this ministry, it excites me to see that one more person has subscribed, and to read the comments that many of you send in reply to this ministry.  I did not choose this online ministry for myself as I always thought that I would be a pastor of a church, but this ministry is the ministry that God called me to, and it is His calling that is to be followed, and it is His blessings that I receive for following His will for my life.  It is my boasting of what God is doing in my life to share His love for us all, not that any of it is from me but that it is all from God working through me to help us all grow in our relationships with Him, and hopefully lead some lost souls to Christ Jesus to begin new relationships with Him.  A Bible passage that I hold dear to this ministry and a connection to the Apostle Paul is his own words in Colossians 1:27-29 (NKJV) as he declares, “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.  Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.  To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.”  It is the greatest thing I know of to do in this world – in Christ.

Dear LORD,

You have called me to this ministry as You called the Apostle Paul to his ministry.  And like Paul, I too have a boasting not in myself as I know that everything You produce through me to help others, and myself, in our relationships with You through salvation in Christ Jesus comes from You, not me.  I am so thankful that this ministry is touching the lives of others to help us all draw closer to You LORD – in Christ.  As the Apostle Paul quotes Jeremiah 9:24 in 2 Corinthians 10:17 (NKJV), “But “he who glories, let him glory in the LORD.”  Please let it be so LORD – In Christ.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
