1 Corinthians 2:13-16

“These things” (1 Corinthians 2:13, NKJV) refers to the hidden wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 2:7) and “The things which God has prepared for those who love Him” [Isaiah 64:4].  The Apostle Paul states in 1 Corinthians 2:13, “13These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”  A better understanding of spiritual things is only accomplished by believing in God and in the salvation that He provides through His One and only Son Jesus (1 Corinthians 2:14).  When salvation is received, it is welcomed by the one that is opening their heart to Jesus; God’s Holy Spirit is sent to live within this person and a new understanding of God’s wisdom begins to unfold in their life.  With this new wisdom of God being realized (as God gives it in proper proportion) the spiritual person is better equipped to make the decisions of life, not only in their own life but in leading others through the working of God’s Holy Spirit in their life.

This is a promise of receiving a new spiritual wisdom that only comes through opening one’s heart to Jesus and receiving God’s Holy Spirit.

Over the years many people of the secular world have been trying to explain the Bible from their own standpoint or view on life.  But without receiving, with an open heart, the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit to lead them, it is impossible to come to any proper judgement of the meaning of God’s Word and what it means to be a Christian.  Satan wants us to believe through the sinful nature that we can prove ourselves independent of God.  But without knowing God personally, how could anyone possibly come to this decision?  Open your heart to God today and receive through His Holy Spirit His wisdom in life; a new life in Christ Jesus.

Dear LORD,

Please help us to see that our wisdom is nothing compared to Your wisdom, and that You will freely give us Your wisdom if we will put our faith in You and accept Your gift of eternal life in Your One and only Son Jesus.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
