Matthew 13:1

Jesus does something in Matthew 13:1 that we need to take hold of in this hustle and bustle world: He went out and sat by the sea.  He had some alone time.  Even Jesus, in His humanity, needed to escape the multitudes and have some alone time with His heavenly Father.

This is an example that we all need to have some alone time to gather our thoughts and prayers to God.

This is a part of the passage that I believe gets overlooked by many people because we are in such a hurry to read our daily Bible passage and get on to the next task for the day.  We are all prone to it, and we all fall to the hurried lifestyles that we live.  But God reminds us when we stray from our devotion to Him.  He watches over us and will always lead us back to Him; but we must listen to Him as He calls us, and we must then obey His commands that He puts into our hearts.  God loves each one of us and He has a plan for each of our lives, but we must be aware that we too need to seek His will for our lives each day in the hurried lifestyles that we live.  God will show us the way to find the time to spend with Him each day, but we must also seek it.

Dear LORD,

We do not intend to stray from our daily quiet time with You.  We do not intend to let the hustle and bustle ways of this world take us away from following Your will for our lives.  But Satan is the master of trickery, and he will do everything he can to draw us away from You and our salvation in Christ Jesus.  Please prompt our hearts to seek Your Word each day, which is our textbook to life – in Christ!  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
