Romans 5:11

The Apostle Paul teaches us that we not only have been justified by faith and brought to peace with God through our Savior Jesus (Romans 5:1), but also Jesus gives us access to God’s grace and a reason to, “rejoice in hope of the glory of God” (Romans 5:2, NKJV).  Jesus gives us a reason to “glory” in tribulations through the perseverance, character, and hope that we gain through the tribulation in growing closer to God in our relationship with Him through His Holy Spirit and the love that He indwells within our hearts (Romans 5:3-5).

Paul ties this all together in Romans 5:11 and gives us a reason to rejoice in Christ Jesus in that as Jesus died for us, who are all undeserving of this gift, He took our place on the cross so that we may all be reconciled to God and saved from His wrath through the obedience of Jesus to God’s great plan of salvation for all who will believe in Him.

This is a promise that we should be rejoiceful in our Savior Christ Jesus.

Paul may very well be reflecting on what he has proclaimed in Romans 5:5 (NKJV), “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”  This is a great thing that God has done for us and we should be ever-rejoicing “in God” for it – our salvation that He, in His Almighty Godhead, has created not only this world and all that is in it, but a way for us to be reconciled to Himself to experience the relationship in which He has created us to have with Him.  Let us be rejoiceful and give all praise, glory, honor, and thanksgiving to our Creator God for all He is and all He has done for us.

Dear LORD,

Thank You for all You have done for us in providing a way through Your Son Jesus for us to be reconciled to You through what He has done for us on the cross and in His resurrection from the grave.  Please fill us with Your Holy Spirit in rejoicing in all that You have done for us because of Your great love for us in reuniting us back to a right relationship with You through our Savior Jesus.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
