Hebrews 10:15-18

The author of Hebrews reassures the reader/hearer of this letter of the importance of recognizing that God is in control of the covenant in which He has made with man/humanity by once again quoting from Jeremiah 31:33-34 as God spoke through the prophet in the announcement of putting His laws into the hearts and minds of His people.  Forgiveness will take precedence in the remission of sins through the perfect acceptable sacrifice given once through Christ for all humanity.  Jesus promised to send His Holy Spirit to dwell within all who will believe in Him.  Jesus states in John 14:15-18 (NKJV), “If you love Me, keep My commandments.  And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever – the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.  I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”

This is a promise of the spiritual relationship that is within one’s heart and mind – in Christ.

Jesus told the woman at the well in John 4:23-24 (ESV), “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.  God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”  This is only possible through opening one’s heart to the forgiveness that God offers to us through the sacrifice of His one and only Son Jesus, who died for the sins of the world, that if we will believe in Him, He will forgive us and give us a new life through the guidance of His Holy Spirit in which He promised to send to all who will believe in Him.  If you have not done so, I encourage you to do so today and begin living the life that God has for you; you will be amazed at the wonderful blessing that will follow – in Christ.

Dear LORD,

Please help us to realize the importance of opening our hearts to You and accept the forgiveness and filling of our hearts that is accomplished through Jesus’ death and resurrection and the indwelling of Your Holy Spirit to be our guide and fill us with Your spiritual blessing that are to be everlasting for all who will believe in You.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
