Hebrews 8:3-6

Jesus is a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle in which the LORD built, not that of which was built of man (Hebrews 8:2).  The tabernacle of the Levitical priesthood was built by man from the instructions of God given to Moses as a pattern/copy of what is the true sanctuary and tabernacle (Exodus 25:40).  It would not be fitting for Jesus to be a High Priest in the lesser sanctuary and tabernacle of man which is insufficient for righteousness and purposed to point man to the greater sanctuary and tabernacle in which Jesus has been appointed High Priest for eternity through the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 7:2-3).

This is a promise of a better covenant which is given through salvation in Christ Jesus.

The outline of Biblical Theology is the revelation of God’s plan of salvation for all of humanity.  The Old Testament Law is a “picture” of the effects of sin on man and of the unattainable requirements for man to obtain righteousness in the eyes of Almighty God.  But with the unattainable requirements of the Law, God gave a promise through the prophets of a coming Messiah through which God would give man eternal forgiveness and a new heart in humble sincerity to Him for all who will believe in Him (Jeremiah 31:31-33; Ezekiel 18:31-32; John 1:9-13).  Jesus is the fulfillment of the unattainable requirements of the Law for man through the everlasting promise of God (John 3:16-17; Matthew 5:17).  Jesus is our Savior.  He offers a new life of forgiveness for all who will open their heart to Him and receive a new heart – in Christ.

Dear LORD,

This world we live in on earth is a sinful place in which You have promised to save us from if we will put our faith in You by opening our hearts to forgiveness that is only found in our Savior Jesus, Your Son, whom You sent to save the world from sin.  Please help us to believe and live true life in Christ.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
