Hebrews 1:6

We learn in Hebrews 1:6 that not only is Jesus, “so much better than the angels,” (Hebrews 1:4, NKJV), but that the angels are all to worship Him.  As God “brings the firstborn into the world” (Hebrews 1:6), the angels sang praise at His physical birth.  Luke 2:13-14 (ESV) states, “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

And we learn in Revelation 5:11-12 (NIV), “Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand.  They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.  In a loud voice they were saying:

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,

to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength

and honor and glory and praise!”

This is an example that even the angels give praise and worship to Jesus.

As we continue to learn of the majesty of Jesus and His place as One with Almighty God, we see that even the angels give praise and worship to Jesus – the Lamb who was slain for the sins of the world that whoever believes in Him may be saved from sin and the grasp of Satan.  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6) and He is worthy of our praise and worship for all eternity!

Dear LORD,

Jesus was praised by the angels at His physical birth, and He was and is continually praised at Your right hand in heaven by all the tens of thousands upon thousands and thousands of the heavenly host.  Jesus has earned our praise and worship by taking our place on the cross and paying our debt to sin once for all (Romans 6:10).  He is alive today, and we too can be alive in Christ by putting our faith in Him for what He has done for us on the cross.  Let all the angels and all creation praise Jesus!  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
