2 Timothy 2:11–13 (part 3, verse 13)
In the last part of this faithful saying from the Apostle Paul (2 Timothy 2:11–13, NKJV) Paul states,
“13 If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself.”
Even for those who have no faith in Christ Jesus as their Savior, He remains constant and consistent in being the faithful One. Jesus is always ready and waiting for the faithless to come to Him and ask forgiveness. The Apostle John declares in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
This is a promise that Jesus is always faithful to forgive us our sins if we will confess them to Him.
Jesus died with His arms open and held there permanently by the nails that held them to the cross, as for all eternity He will always have His arms open and ready to embrace everyone who will come to the cross and open their arms to embrace Him. He calls us to Him for salvation, but we must respond to His calling on our lives by opening our arms to Him and receiving His love for us through our faith in Him as God’s grace flows to us through His Holy Spirit’s embrace to our heart, soul, and mind as we are renewed in Christ Jesus.
Dear LORD,
The Apostle Paul instructs us in 1 Corinthians 1:9, “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” Please give us the courage and strength to come to Jesus and confess our sins as He waits for us with His arms wide open to receive us in Your true love. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
