2 Thessalonians 3:16-18
2 Thessalonians 3:16-18 is the benediction/final words and prayer for the Thessalonians as the Apostle Paul ends this letter/epistle. He emphasizes the importance of the peace of God in every person’s life to always be present, and that it is the Lord Jesus from which peace comes (2 Thessalonians 3:16). Paul then signs the letter with his own words of authenticity as the author of the letter/epistle (2 Thessalonians 3:17) and then ends this letter to the church at Thessalonica with his desired blessings for the Thessalonians from God as he states, “18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen (2 Thessalonians 3:18, NKJV).
This is an example of a caring heart for others and the desire for the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ to bless all who will open their hearts to Him.
The love and caring that the Apostle Paul shows for the Thessalonians is living proof of being an example of a Christian to others. Paul shows the concern for the Thessalonians to draw closer to God through the relationship of opening one’s heart to Jesus and professing Him Lord and Savior, and then to follow the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit as is the gift of salvation in Christ Jesus – His Holy Spirit dwelling in our lives to guide us and lead us as is God’s desire for our lives -to follow Him and put Him first in our lives to help us in all times, good and bad. God is waiting for you to put your trust and faith in Him; if you do so, He will give you life eternal with His peace, joy, and heartfelt love that lasts forever – in Christ!
Dear LORD,
Jesus declared in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” Please let it be so LORD for all our lives – in Christ! In Jesus name I pray, amen.
