2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
We learn in 2 Thessalonians 2:9 that the “lawless one” (NKJV) will receive his power from Satan to work his wonders and signs. In 2 Thessalonians 2:10 we learn that only those who “did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved” will be the ones who will be deceived and perish. And in 2 Thessalonians 2:11 the Bible teaches us that because these who “did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved” (2 Thessalonians 2:10), “God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12).
This is a promise of the lawless one being able to deceive only those “who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2 Thessalonians 2:12).
Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus is the truth that the Apostle Paul speaks of in 2 Thessalonians 2:10, 12 of being the truth that saves and protects us from the lies and deception of the lawless one, which is in turn governed by Satan in unrighteousness.
Dear LORD,
This is the point in which the Bible teaches us will come, and when it does there will only be saved the ones who believe in the truth – who believe in Jesus as the Savior of the world and the Savior who died to pay for the sins of the world so that we all who believe in Him may be freed from the lies and deception of the lawless one who is governed by Satan. Please open our eyes, minds, and hearts to the truth that is found only in Jesus that we all may be saved from that day. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
