2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
In 2 Thessalonians 1:11(NKJV) the Apostle Paul says, “Therefore” which is in reference to the Christians at Thessalonica conducting themselves in the ways of the Lord Jesus and the praise they receive from God for being obedient to Him; Therefore/because of this, Paul and his ministry team continually prays for them that, “our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power, 12that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12).
This is an example of Christians praying for Christians that God would glorify Himself through the lives of those who put their faith in Him, and in that, being glorified through Christ Jesus.
It is through God’s grace to us that we are glorified in Him. It is through our obedience in faith with sincere hearts that we do our part in accomplishing the glorification of God on this earth through our salvation in Christ Jesus who came to save the world from sin (John 3:16-17). It is through the continued support in prayer that we help one another accomplish what the Lord is fulfilling in each of our callings in Christ. Let us always keep in mind that God glorifies Himself through our obedience to Him, and in return He glorifies us in Him. Give all praise, honor, glory, and thanksgiving to God; for He alone is worthy. He will honor and glorify us for doing so.
Dear LORD,
The power of prayer is evident throughout Scripture as Abraham, Moses, David, and Solomon are but a few of the examples of You working in the lives of those who petitioned You in prayer. Please remind us daily that You will work in our lives in the same way if we will come to You in support of one another in prayer. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
