2 Corinthians 9:10-15

In 2 Corinthians 9:10-15 the Apostle Paul gives thanks to God for giving the abilities to the givers for being able to give as God is ultimately in control of all things; He gives the ability to have the resources to be able to give from the abundance the He has blessed each one with (2 Corinthians 9:10-11).  Paul makes it clear that the gifts are not only supplying for the needs of the minister of the Church, but in many other ways in which the Church reaches out to those in need (2 Corinthians 9:12).  Paul also notes that the preachers/leaders of the churches are giving glory to God for the sharing of the gospel by the congregation and for the relationships that they have with God through their salvation in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 9:13).  And in 2 Corinthians 9:14 Paul tells of the support in prayer that the pastors/leaders of the churches gives to God for the faithfulness of the giving of the congregations.  Paul ends this section of the letter to the church at Corinth by thanking God for His “indescribable gift” in supplying the congregation with the “fruits of your righteousness” (2 Corinthians 9:10, NKJV).

This is an example of the source of all giving – God Almighty who supplies us with the “fruits of your righteousness” (2 Corinthians 9:10).

God has given us all fruits of our righteousness as He enables us to give to those in need as He is the ultimate supplier of our needs.  He uses us all to supply the needs of each other as during one time we help others, and during another time we may find ourselves in need.  If we will follow God’s will for our lives through His Word and His Holy Spirit working in our hearts – in our lives, we will all find that our needs are met as we experience the “fruits of your righteousness” (2 Corinthians 9:10).  And as the Apostle Paul states in 2 Corinthians 9:15, “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”

Dear LORD,

Thank You so much for being our giver of all gifts that enables us to look after the needs of each other – in Christ.  And thank You for giving us caring hearts that reach out to the needs of the communities around us in hopes that through our example of sharing the gospel will attract the lost sheep of the world to our great Shepherd Jesus, that everyone, everywhere may find peace and eternal life.  Please let it be so LORD.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
