2 Corinthians 2:12-13

As the Apostle Paul continues to explain his delay in coming to Corinth, he speaks of his concern and spirit being in unrest as he was seeking his brother in ministry, Titus.  This may seem to be out of place in the letter, however, Paul explains this more in 2 Corinthians 72 Corinthians 2:12-13 may be a lesson in patience for the congregation of the church at Corinth, but as we will see in 2 Corinthians 7, a blessing is to come.

This is a promise and example to trust in the LORD and to seek, obey, and follow His ways as the current situation, while being somewhat unclear, may bring future blessings.

We are all anxious to have God reveal His plan for our lives, but we must be patient and wait for the LORD to work in our lives as He wills, for His ways are better than our ways.  The Prophet Moses proclaims in Deuteronomy 32:3-4 (NKJV),

“For I proclaim the name of the LORD:

Ascribe greatness to our God.

He is the Rock, His work is perfect;

For all His ways are justice,

A God of truth and without injustice;

Righteous and upright is He.”

Psalm 25:4-5 declares,

“Show me Your ways, O LORD;

Teach me Your paths.

Lead me in Your truth and teach me,

For You are the God of my salvation;

On You I wait all the day.”

God has a plan for each of us.  He longs to share that plan with us.  But we must first come to Him with a sincere heart and obedience, and put Him first in our lives.

Dear LORD,

We ask for patience today LORD, that we would wait on You to reveal Your plan for our lives to us, and that we would know clearly when You do so that we could then act as You lead and guide us in Your will for our lives – in Christ.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
