1 Timothy 5:21-22

1 Timothy 5:21-22

In 1 Timothy 5:21-22 (NKJV) the Apostle Paul explains just how important these instructions are that he is giving to Timothy as to the leadership of the Church as he states, “21I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing with partiality. 22Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people’s sins; keep yourself pure.”

This is a command to hold true to the instructions of choosing leaders for the Church.

The Church continues today to be led by those who are appointed/chosen with the qualifications to be leaders. These people have a special calling from God on their lives as they will lead others in holding to the doctrine for the church. If you are a deacon, older widow, or even as Sunday School teacher, congratulations as you have been chosen to lead others in the church. Always keep in mind the words of the Bible as found in James 3:1, “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.” The rewards are great but you are held responsible for those who learn from what you teach them of the gospel.

Dear LORD,

To lead in the Church is a great honor and responsibility as one needs to hold true to Your Word in teaching others. Please inspire us through Your Holy Spirit working in our lives to lead everyone we teach to Christ Jesus. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
