1 Timothy 2:3-4
To pray for our needs, the needs of others, and to give thanks to God, the Apostle Paul says, “is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of truth” (1 Timothy 2:3-4, NKJV).
This is an example and promise of the command to spend time in prayer with God each day.
What then is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior? To pray for our needs, the needs of others, and to give Him thanksgiving for all He has, is, and will do for us as our Savior, of which He declares through the Apostle Paul that it is His desire for everyone to be saved and to gain knowledge of the truth. The Prophet Micah declares, “He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8). Jesus declared in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” This is the basics of our salvation and knowledge of God and of how He works in our lives. It all grows through prayer.
Dear LORD,
Please help us all to realize and understand today just how important it is to spend time with You each day in prayer for our needs, the needs of others, and to give You thanks for all that You have done, are doing, and will do for us as we seek and follow Your will for our lives through our salvation in Jesus Christ. Thank You so much LORD. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
