1 Thessalonians 1:1
In 1 Thessalonians 1:1 is the greeting to the church at Thessalonica from Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy. This letter, as is the custom of the Apostle Paul, is written to those “in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 1:1, NKJV). The information that is given in Paul’s letters to the churches are for those who are seeking the Lord in their lives and for those who are desiring to learn and grow in their relationship with God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
This is the greeting “In God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” to the church at Thessalonica.
This is a promise that what is to follow is guidance for those seeking God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The teachings of the Apostle Paul, and of all those who were inspired by God’s Holy Spirit to write the books of the Bible, are for those who are seeking to learn about God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ as we put Him first in our lives. For those who are not desiring to learn from the Bible will find it very difficult to grasp any of its teachings. As we begin this journey into Paul’s first letter to the church at Thessalonica, let us all prepare our hearts to receive what God has to teach us as He taught through the Apostle Paul, that we may utilize these lessons in our own lives – in Christ.
Dear LORD,
We come to You today and every day to learn about You and Your Son Jesus Christ. We open our hearts, minds, and souls to receive the things You will teach us with intent to apply these lessons in our lives as You draw us closer to You and lead us through this ever-changing world. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
