1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (5d)

In 1 Corinthians 13:5d the Apostle Paul, through the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit, teaches that [love] “thinks no evil;”.  Love thinks no evil.  Immediately, this eliminates everyone to which Paul is speaking/teaching because everyone has had an evil thought.  But it is not man’s love that Paul is speaking of, but the love of God as is described in 1 John 4:10-11 declaring (NKJV), “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

This is a promise that love thinks no evil.

A love that thinks no evil may seem to be impossible for us to have, but it is the gift of God through our salvation in Christ Jesus that allows us to experience God’s perfect love in our lives.  It is the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit that changes our lives for the good – for obtaining the gift.  Paul teaches us in Ephesians 5:22-25, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.  Against such there is no law.  And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”

The love that is impossible for man to obtain in and of himself is a gift from God for putting our faith in Him.  Put your faith in Jesus today and open your heart to the love that God has for you.

Dear LORD,

Love thinks no evil, but that is because You are love; in Your purity is the essence of love as it should be for us in a sinless world.  Love is the goal that we should strive for in this world as if we do, we are sharing Your true love with others – sharing Jesus with the world!  Please let it be so LORD.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
