1 Corinthians 12:15-19

In 1 Corinthians 12:15-19 the Apostle Paul gives a great example of how the different parts/members of the body of the Church/Christ works together while being different parts/members and having different roles in the betterment of the whole body, and of how important each part/member is in the uniformity of the whole body.  Paul teaches in 1 Corinthians 12:15 (NKJV), “If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?”  He declares in 1 Corinthians 12:17, “If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing?  If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?”  God has called each person to be the part of the body in which God has designed him or her to be.  Paul goes on to teach the congregation of the church at Corinth in 1 Corinthians 12:18-19, “But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.  And if they were all one member, where would the body be?”

This is an example of the importance of each person in the body of Christ/the Church.

This is a promise that God has designed you to be exactly who and what He desires you to be.

Have you found out who God has designed you to be?  Have you asked God to reveal to you the gift/talent that He has designed you for in filling the role He has for you in the body of Christ/the Church.  God has a plan for each of us, and most of the time it is not the plan that you may think it is.  God has given me a passion for sharing the gospel through writing, something that still today fascinates me because I never saw it coming until it happened.  But in that, I pray that God will use me to fulfill His plan for my life in sharing Jesus with the world!  Ask God to show you what His plan is for you; but be open to where He leads you because even though it may not be where you thought He would use you, if you follow His plan for your life, you will experience greater blessings than you could have ever imagined – in Christ!

Dear LORD,

You have created each of us in a unique and individual way that is meant to be a specific part of the body of Christ Jesus in the world today in the ministry of the whole body of the Church.  Please speak to each of our hearts and reveal to us the gift/talent that You have created us for in bringing awareness of Your great love for the world and salvation through Christ Jesus to everyone, everywhere.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
